The thought of the last record shop going down, no matter where you are in the world, is rubbish! My greatest memories are through music and records, that certain smell of vinyl, artwork on the sleeves, and each song which takes you back to a time and a place and many emotions.

First record I bought was Midnight Oil’s 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 – if you don’t have it, you should, and I guarantee you will be blown away! Last record I bought, Radiohead’s pre-order for The King of Limbs.

SOUND IT OUT is a documentary portrait of the very last surviving vinyl record shop in Teesside, North East England.

A cultural haven in one of the most deprived areas in the UK, SOUND IT OUT documents a place that is thriving against the odds and the local community that keeps it alive. Directed by Jeanie Finlay who grew up three miles from the shop.
